On October 10th 2008 we, 3rd Course of EuroMPM, together with our teacher Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Peter J.A Reusch had an opportunity to go to Cologne and visited some places there and eCl@ss Headquarter in Cologne.
Around 10:00 AM we met in Cologne main train station. Before we started our journey, we made a quick picture as souvenir. Here is the picture.

Inside the Cathedral Peter told us little bit about the history of this Cathedral, that it needed very long time to build this Cathedral. He also showed us a famous window in Cathedral which is a master piece from one of Germany artists.
After that we also visited Roman Museum, which is also only few hundreds meters from the Cathedral. In this Museum we saw some old stuff from Roman Era in Cologne. Here is a picture near Roman Museum

After that we also visited Chocolate Museum. For me this is such a nice place, because I love chocolate J . In this museum we could also see the process of making a chocolate. Here we could also get samples from some chocolates. And their tastes were unique. This museum also sells some chocolate. So it was really nice. After visiting Chocolate Museum at the end we could buy some chocolate as souvenirs.
After that we went together with EuroMPM student 2nd course to visit Ecl@ss Headquarter. Here is a picture of us together.

Here we met Dr. Thomas Holzapfel. From him we got some information about what Ecl@ss is. As little bit conclusion, Ecl@ss is an international standard classification code and description of Products and Services, an example when a company need a screw, it is really difficult without a standard classification code to get what this company really wants, because there are thousands or more type of screws. So with this standard, we really know which screw we want, because we know the classification code and also the description, so it’s easy to order it from any other company, which sell this type of screw. Another interesting point from Ecl@ss is, that this standard is available in some languages, such as English, German, Chinese, and so on. For details about Ecl@ss maybe it’s better when we check together their website.
At the end of the presentation we also had some opportunities to make little contribution in Ecl@ss in the future. It’s really such an attractive opportunity for us.
Here is a photo during the presentation.
